My daughter is still using the purse..much to my surprise. It took me back to the day when she bought the purse from a cart retailer at a bus terminal. It was one of those many small-footprint retailers that would appear unattractive and underclass by some people. For some reasons, my daughter shopped for a purse at one of these stalls. She however could not forget the look on the man's face as he handed the purse to her. He looked into my daughter's eyes and appreciatively said thank you. Even though he did not express it in words, his broad smile also seemed to say, Girl, you have really made my day..
You might not see it now but it will become visible as you venture deeper into life..

DEAR SISTER....
I have a story to share. Thisis about my sister and me. In our primary years, we went to the same school. It was indeed a time to remember. Those were the days when I really depended on her. I could still picture myself peeping through the window panes of her class every time I felt thirsty and she would pass me her tumbler, even under the stern stare of the teacher. When I was at the university, she would sometimes visit me and slept over. Many of my friends remembered her as a kind , gentle and caring sister. Even though she was in the UK to further her studies for a few years, that did not stop her from showing her care and concern for me. On my every birthday, she would send me a beautiful card and on a few occasions, she even sent me birthday gifts from there. These are just among the many fond memories I have of her.
Years passed. Both of us got
married and had kids but she continued being kind as she was. She
treated my children like her own and showered them with the same love
and care. My children loved her so much and told only beautiful stories
about her. In July 2015, she was diagnosed with a breast cancer and this
came as a shock to the whole family. Under the doctor's advice, she had a
mastectomy but her condition worsened as the cancer had spread to her
other vital organs. It broke my heart to see her suffered so much.
Nevertheless, she kept a positive attitude and was always in a state of
patience. A few weeks later, she slipped into a coma and was transferred to
the palliative ward. Since then, she never woke up.. On the Friday
morning of 31 July 2015, I woke up to a call from my brother in law... my beloved
sister had passed away at around 4.00 am. It was a painful and heartbreaking experience for
all of us especially her six young children. May Allah swt forgive you
of all your sins and place you, dear sister, among the solihin.
Aamiin...Al fatihah.
