REFLECTION

It has been quite sometime since I last updated my blog. Phew! Last month was a hectic one for me. I was running here and there sending my son for interviews. Believe it or not, this is what the kids have to go through to get into good schools like Mahaad, SBP or MRSM. Hadi was already complaining.."Mom, I have had enough of these interviews...please don't send me for interviews anymore..I am tired lah.." Pity him. He attended 5 interviews and passed only 2; a school in Terengganu and another one in our own hometown. Definitely, we chose the one in Kuantan! (Nearer!!
Alhamdulillah, finally he will begin a life journey on his own, at a boarding school. I do have people saying that I am being cruel to my children as I also sent Along and Angah to boarding schools right after UPSR. Some were saying that it would just be the same if they were sent to daily schools. The kids would still do just fine, so they said. Well, people are entitled to their own opinions. If you asked me, I would say that whether you like it or not, you would still see them off one day, to further their studies at college level or get married. Not many realized that there are a few things that we might not be able to give them at home. Some parents may have the initiative to do so but these could just be within counts.
There are many things that I do not think I would be able to expose my children to; for instance Berjemaah for every solah, listening to Tazkirah after Maghrib every day, Usrah, Ceramah Agama twice every week, reading the Quran after every solat fardhu, reading the yassin every week, reciting surah Al Mulk and reading Al Mathurat  everyday before going to bed, tadarus in the month of Ramadhan  and many more.  Learning is not just about academic excellence, but it requires more than that. Yes, talking about self and financial management or those related to being independent.

Therefore, it is our responsibilities to see to these matters. As emphasized by every Ustaz, " The children are the reflection of the parents." Therefore when our children make a mistake, we should first analyze the situation, see whether we, the parents also play a part in it. This is because most of the time, problems start at home. Some of us may deny this, but I strongly believe that the root of a problem and the solution to it, lie at home. Well, you may have a different opinion but always remember that they are our children. So, it is possible that some of their characteristics are passed on by us, in other words, inherited.. because I do "see" myself in my children.. kan.. so..let's just give it a thought..
