FAST AND FRUITLESS

As I was closing the front door, I noticed a car slowly pulling over next to my neighbour's house. I did not see anything suspicious going on so I totally ignored it. Seconds later, I heard loud voices calling out accompanied by what seemed to me like someone was trying to force open the gate ! My daughters were all looking at me then. Before I could utter a word, we heard a firm and strong voice outside ordering us to open the door, "Police!! Open the door !!"
What!! Police !! In the middle of the night !! And, what are they doing at the kitchen door of my house ?? Since I was left with no choices, I went to the door half trembling. There, I saw a man looking around the house through the door grill. The moment he saw me, he asked in a very stern voice, " Where 's Botak ? Is Botak here? "
Hah! Botak ?? Botak who ?? By then, I was really terrified and my answer was of course, " What are you talking about sir? I don't understand! There's no one called Botak in this house !" He looked at me for sometime and  then his face softened. I heard voices behind him and to my horror I saw that my house was actually surrounded by many policemen !!
Later I learned that my house was mistakenly ambushed by the police in their search of a wanted criminal. The police apologized and left immediately once things were cleared up. Phew !! Just like in the movie !

OUCH..OUCH..

The woman nervously searched her purse while the girl waited patiently. Unfortunately, the only money that she had was a RM50 note. The girl however, insisted on smaller cash. She even asked the old woman to get something smaller and collect her pisang goreng later.
I was there all the time.. watching. My conscience told me to do something and so I did. Thus, I quickly handed some money to the girl and said, "Take this please." She hesitated at first but took it anyway. The old woman who was surprised by the act thanked me and left.. without even looking at me.. OUCH...  at least she said thank you... hahaha..
A few days later, I was at the bank as I needed to make a payment. It was ok at first but I got stuck with the last RM10. After several attempts, the note was still rejected. I was about to give up when an old Chinese man who was at another ATM suddenly handed me his RM10 for an exchange. My my... was I surprised... one good turn indeed deserves another...OUCH..

WHITE LIE

Hahaha!! The funniest thing happened today in my 5m1s33 class. Amir, a boy with a good sense of humour and could be quite irritating at times finally had his fair share. We were doing report writing and just like other lessons, it was also time to play the marker pen game! Hahaha.. my students loved as well as hated the game. Why ? Simply because they had to take turns showing how much they knew about the discussed topic by writing a relevant word on  the board. As much as they hated it, they also found it enriching at the same time !
Now back to Amir. It was then his turn to share. In order to help him reduce his nervousness while writing on the board, I asked him this question, " Amir, now tell me. Do you have a girlfriend?" He quickly answered, " No madam, I don't. " Almost in choral, the whole class protested loudly " He's lying! He's lying!" Amir, however calmly brushed it off by saying " No, I do not have any girlfriend. Mine are all boyfriends," while continuing writing on the board. As soon as he finished saying this, out of sudden, there was a very loud sound of thunder! We were silent for a while and looked out of the window for signs of rain.
Surprisingly, we found the weather just fine. Then, everything made sense and the whole class burst into laughter! Hahaha! In between laughter I said, " See Amir, even the nature is against you! You shouldn't have lied to your teacher !! But this boy was not at all disturbed! He completed his task at the board as if nothing had happened and even wrote his name there before returning to his seat.  Out of sudden, again came the second sound of thunder! That really freaked him out  I think because he rushed back to the board and erased his name! Hahaha! Serves him right !!! Amik ko !  It was indeed a day to remember !

THAT WAS NEITHER THE FIRST NOR THE SECOND TIME I WENT THROUGH IT. EXPERIENCING IT OVER  AND  OVER AGAIN ALWAYS LEFT ME CRYING FOR HOURS.

Engkaukah itu,
Yang kuhamburkan,
Tika dibalut kesepian,
Oleh rasa keasingan dan kehampaan.
Engkaukah itu,
Yang menyahut panggilan sayu,
Menerpa, merempuh ombak dadaku,
Dalam kesepian, kegelapan diri,
Menjanjikan perpisahan di esok hari.
Engkaukah itu,
yang akan menyusuriku,
Tika aku berlalu,
Meninggalkan daerah kesayanganku,
Gelak ketawa dan sendaku,
Kini kan jadi kelabu.
Iringilah daku,
Kerana engkaulah yang lebih memungkinkan perasaan,
Menyatakan kesedihan,
Duhai sang airmata ku.....

I should have just said this right into her face. I regretted simply leaving the office without saying things that were building blocks in my head. When I played back the meeting in my head I felt so angry with myself for not spilling things out. These are what I should have said..
When your boss is out of the meeting, please tell him about this visit. Tell him that a woman is asking for the right way to tell a child what she was told months ago..(yes..when they met you) were only lies. Lies told by an adult who claimed that he was one of the big shots there. Do remind him not to make anymore promises that he cannot keep. And, please also remember to ask him for a way to mend this child's broken heart.
When I left the building, it seemed like all hopes were gone. Along suggested we go shopping but I was not in the mood anymore. I just wanted to get home. All the way, I kept on asking myself what would be the best way to explain things to Adik. I could already picture her in disappointment, frustration and tears..
Months later, when I could finally come to terms with what was happening, I went home after work feeling better. While driving, I kept on telling myself, ' You must accept this with an open heart  and mind. The right word is Redha. Accept Qada and Qadar. We plan with big hopes but Allah swt plans with love. So, no questions asked. Much to my surprise, on that day, again I experienced an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. Allahuakbar! What do you know! I just could not believe my eyes when I saw it in the mail box ! I was so happy that l cried for hours! Syukur Alhamdulillah.. thank you Allah .. thank you for answering my prayer..

Sometimes Allah takes away the sun,
and replaces it with a stormy weather,
You cry your heart out,
Groping your way through,
Looking for some lights,
Only to realise that, verily
Allah wants to provide you with a better shelter.

It was like any other days. I grabbed my bag and then went rushing down the stairs to my car to go to my two o'clock class. But Oh no!! The car failed to start even though I tried many times!! Alamak !! What should I do ?? Get help of course !! I saw a colleague passing in his car and I waved frantically at him. Later another colleague came to help. Unfortunately, they could not figure out what was wrong with my car as jump starting it did not change anything. Therefore we knew that it was not about the car battery after all. Just when all hope seemed gone, help came when you least expected it! A car suddenly pulled over next to mine. Two men came out and offered help. What do you know! These men were actually mechanics!! Mechanics in the college ?? Unbelievable !! It was as if they were delivered from heaven!! Thank you Allah.. I have always believed in the Miracles of Solah DHUHA. I had seen miracles in my life and on that particular day, I saw another one..

There is a time of the year when the weather is windy and crisp. On these days, at the traffic lights,  I would roll down the wind screen while waiting for the light to turn green just to listen to the sound of the dry leaves blowing across the street and sniff up the pleasant earthy smell of the April wind..

ALONE

I was sitting alone at a table while waiting for my food order. Hmmm.. actually there were lots of activities going on here. And different food aroma filled the air.. hot, fruity, spicy, sweet, tangy, savory...all seemed so appealing to one's appetite. What did  I feel in the midst of all these? Nothing.. just some cold and empty feelings.
I just sat there and stared into space. I was not shedding tears or anything, just feeling somber and glum. However, deep down this heart was crying. Soulful cries that I could not hold back or  express. Or should I say like an emotional breakdown within myself that sent numbness throughout my body. A kind of somber unrevealing feeling. This was indeed a very bad feeling inside.
Guess, some things just would not go away easily and could not be erased..

     ONLY ALLAH KNOWS..

Annabethcat.deviantart.com
Only Allah knows what’s best for us,
So why should we complain,
We always want the sunshine,
But Allah knows there must be rain.
We always want the laughter,
And the merriment of cheer,
But our hearts will lose their tenderness,
If we never shed a tear.
Allah tests us often,
With suffering and with sorrow,
Allah tests us not to punish us,
But to help us meet tomorrow,
For growing trees are strengthened,
If they withstand the storm,
And the sharp cut of the chisel,
Gave the marble grace and form.
Allah tests us often,
For every pain Allah gives  us,
Provided we’re patient,
Is followed by rich again.
So whenever we feel that everything is going wrong,
It is just Allah’s way,
To make our spirit’s strong.
